kerravonsen: Almost anything is fixable in fanfic (fanfic-fix)
In anticipation of the anti-theist trainwreck that is apparently this week's Doctor Who, I would like someone to cheer me up by writing a thoughtful fic in which Teal'c has a deep and meaningful conversation about false gods, with a devout monotheist.
Please?
kerravonsen: Gregory House listening on earphones: "Listen" (listen)
I am having a great deal of fun with my new MP3 player (expensive, but fun). Because it runs Android, I've been able to install various useful apps, including Smart Audiobook Player, which makes listening to audiobooks much easier, since it remembers where you're up to in any given audiobook, rather than having to faff around and fast-forward to where you were.

This means... I want podfic recs!

I have already grabbed everything off http://www.hufflehugs.net and skimmed through the stuff at http://www.audiofic.jinjurly.com/ (and am in the process of downloading a bunch of human-read mainstream-lit audiobooks from http://www.gutenberg.org/) so I would like recs for stuff from other places. Alas, a lot of podfic for things like amplificathon has vanished because it was uploaded to short-term filesharing places and has now gone.

So... given all those caveats, is there any podfic left to rec to me? I hope so.

(ETA: Yes, I've also looked through the "Podfic" tag on the AO3 as well, though I might do another pass in the future if/when they have tag filtering re-enabled.)
kerravonsen: Frodo staring at the Ring: "such a small thing" (Frodo)
Okay, so I've been following Mark Reads The Lord of the Rings since a few people mentioned it. (And what fun it has been) He's just read The Two Towers Chapter 8, in which one of the things that happens is that Legolas and Gimli promise to go on a road trip if they both survive the events to come.

So... has anyone written fanfic of that road trip? Good and not slash fanfic?

In your own space, ask for recs. Something as simple as "I like XYZ (where XYZ is a kink, a pairing, a trope, etc) - please rec me some." Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Remember that your rec list doesn’t have to be fic if that’s not what you’re looking for. Some of you might be yearning for good vid recs or fanart or fanmixes or meta or... well, you get the picture, right? ;)

I'm always looking for stories featuring psi powers, especially telepathy and/or telempathy. I don't care if the powers are based on magic or science, I just love telepathy. In any of my fandoms, whether telepathy is part of the canon landscape or not. Whether it be a major part of the universe (Tomorrow People, The Omega Factor), a minor part of the universe (Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Harry Potter, Sapphire & Steel, ST:Reboot), mentioned in passing (Stargate, Highlander, Buffy) or not really part of the universe at all (Sentinel, House, Labyrinth).

Recs, please?
(Note for folks who may have come here via the fandom-snowflake post: I don't read slash.)

After reading Thanks, But No Thanks (PG; Star Trek XI) by Jedi Buttercup, I have a hankering for ST:Reboot fic - especially long ones featuring Uhura and Spock. Any recommendations?

Gacked from [personal profile] jaythenerdkid:
Post, in your journal, a rec list singling out the best of your own fics. Tell people why you are especially proud of those particular fics, and of course provide links to them. Yes, that's right, this step involves self-promotion. How else are people supposed to find your fics? List as many or as few as you feel appropriate to represent your body of writing.

Also include a paragraph about the types of fics you most enjoy reading or are most interested in reading in the immediate future -- favorite tropes, pairings, fandoms, whatever. If you're particularly lazy, link to that Dear Writer post you did for whatever holiday exchange comes to mind.

Reply to other rec posts (like for example the one you are reading now) by reccing a fic of your own that might fit the original poster's tastes, or that you'd just really like them to read, because maybe they don't know they'd like it.

So go ye and rec your stuff!

I hate asking people to write me fic, because nobody ever does. And yet, if one doesn't ask, nobody ever will. So I humbly request that over the next couple of weeks, people write me fic. I've got a lovely novel that I'm reading right now ("Mouse and Dragon") which is nicely distracting, but I know I will be in need of further distraction in the coming days and weeks. So no need for insta-fic, but some nice juicy fic would be nice.
Fic recs would not go astray either.

As for my fandoms, see my interests, or probably more helpful, the list of universes on my Net-fic Reviews page. Eclectic fandom love is eclectic.
kerravonsen: Snape: Anti-hero (Snape-anti-hero)
Much as I have been enjoying reading SS/HG stories, as I said earlier, they're all starting to blur together in my mind, so I'm taking a break from them.
However, one of the ones I got half way through before realizing that I couldn't remember which events were attached to which story, well, anyway, that particular story was different because there was actual Hermione + Snape friendship in the story before it turned into romance.
And I love friendship.

So... does anybody know if there actually exist any pure Hermione & Snape friendship stories?
Or even Snape & anybody friendship stories?
