kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
Whoa. (is speechless)
incoherent spoilery sputterings )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
I'm not as impressed by this one, partly because the title gives too much away.
yo! they is spoilers here, man )
I dunno, I just found this episode all sorts of vaguely annoying.
kerravonsen: Samantha Carter: Astrogeek (Astrogeek)
Sam Carter is standing in for Larry in my icon.
What does it say about my own geekiness that when I saw the title of this episode, I went into my bedroom to look at the periodic table poster on my wardrobe, in order to look up which element was atomic number 33?
and the element is... )

So, it turns out that "Endgame" was a sequel after all; it just wasn't a sequel to "Checkmate".
I'm too tired and fuzzy to really say much about this one...
Does that little scene at the end mean that Colby has baggage that he's dealing with too?
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
What with the following episode being called "Endgame", I was expecting this to be a two-parter. The episode was okay, but it felt like it was all going over old ground, nothing new.
spoilers )
Maybe I'm just too hot and tired. (sigh)
kerravonsen: map of Australia: "Home land" (Australia)
Now, this one was more like it. More plain character stuff, and a deeper mystery.
spoilery ramblings )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
I'd have to class this episode as "okay". Nothing really spectacular. Larry was good, as usual.
ramblings with possible spoilers )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
Not quite as riveting as the previous one, but it had its moments.
spoilery ramblings )
kerravonsen: steampunk raygun behind glass: "Use in Emergency" (raygun-emergency)
Oh my, what an episode!
tiny bit of spoilery ramblings )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
I assume this is the episode which people have mentioned as being set (and filmed?) at a convention, yes? Good to see that it wasn't full of "point and stare at these weird people" which could easily have happened.

random spoilery ramblings )
kerravonsen: What is essential is invisible to the eye (essential-invisible)
I have only one thing to say: I ♥ Larry. 8-)

"Out of chaos comes freedom."

"I have been made temporary custodian of his rabbit."

With a title like "Primacy", I was expecting this one to be about prime numbers, so I was rather pleased that it was about spoiler ) instead.
a small amount of random spoilery stuff )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
What a twisted tale that was. I kind of lost track who was selling out whom at the end.
unexpected squee )
kerravonsen: animated sequence of geeks with the word "geek" around them (geek-anim)
Okay, that was nicely geeky. I loved the mechanical engineer! He's got the poetic streak of Larry, but with his own quirks. There he'd be getting on swimmingly with someone, and then he'd obliviously drop a clunker. Hee!

Thanks y'all for polling. What I ended up doing was
- making a strawberry-banana Optifast smoothie
- reading more of "An Assembly Such as This" while drinking it
- putting in a load of washing
- watching two episodes of Numb3rs; I rewatched "The Janus List" and then I watched "Trust Metric".
spoilers for Janus List and Trust Metric )
But it makes me realize that I may not be able to do the ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha because I feel so utterly daunted at the idea of writing Larry. I can't! Waaaah!
kerravonsen: (Default)
I just finished watching this. The "A" plot was almost irrelevant; what knocked my socks off was the "B" plot. Larry and Charlie and Megan; especially Larry and Charlie. People matter. Relationships matter. Friendship matters. Wow.

"So I almost get shot, and you guys respond by doing a lot of math."
(Oswald, "Hardball" Numb3rs)

While I was sick, I was watching the first season of Numb3rs. I like, I like! I ♥ Larry, and Charlie, and Don, and Alan. I love how Charlie and Larry relate everything in the world to maths and physics. The science geek in me is squeeing at how much of the science is correct (if sometimes oversimplified). (Ionizing radiation! Electron orbits! Binary data envisaged as millions of coins flipping head or tails!)

So yesterday, I tried to find the second season on DVD, and I couldn't find it anywhere. So I finally resorted to ordering it from Amazon, but that means I have to wait weeks before I can watch season 2. Wah!

In other news, I have decided that my favourite Tim Tams are Double Coated and the new Honeycomb Crunch (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sallymn for pointing out its existence).
