So, it turns out that "Endgame" was a sequel after all; it just wasn't a sequel to "Checkmate".
I'm too tired and fuzzy to really say much about this one...
Does that little scene at the end mean that Colby has baggage that he's dealing with too?

That's how I take it. That bit actually made me cry, because I wasn't sure if we were ever going to revisit Colby's feeling re: Dwayne and the entire Janus mess. And then we did, and it was understated but made total sense to me. *hugs Colby*
