Running to stand still
Oct. 10th, 2004 09:16 pmFor example... I wanted to write a daily-bible-reading script. But I wanted to do it properly -- which sidetracked me to (a) investigating Perl module skeleton creators, writing a subclass module for one, discovering another, better one, and writing a plugin module for it and (b) writing a "proper" perl module for the scrappy scripts I'd been using peacemeal to help with my perl module writing (originally inspired by the irritating task of updating the version-ids in most of the test files for txt2html). And the plugin I wrote isn't sufficient, so maybe I should write another one... and I'm no closer to writing the daily-bible-reading script which sparked all this frenzy.
You'll all be thinking I'm a P next.
(sigh)
I'm never going to finish anything at this rate!

Date: 2004-10-10 05:58 pm (UTC)Good question. Pity I don't have a clue as to the answer, apart from just that I'm a perfectionist...
Are you seeing enough people socially outside work? (face to face, not on the net)
Um, I don't see how making myself more busy would help with how busy I am... How much is "enough"? It varies from person to person. Too much socializing for me is anti-refreshing. Well, depending on the people, anyway. I've been doing a lot of socializing lately because we've been doing a lot of stuff with my brother-from-Indonesia and his family, which has been fun, so I don't think you could say I haven't been socializing enough.
