Knit-Ho!

(to the tune of Heigh-Ho(+))

We knit knit knit knit knit knit knit
With yarn the whole day through
To knit knit knit knit knit knit knit
Is what we like to do
It ain't no trick to make stuff quick
If you knit knit knit with a needle or a pick(++)
All the time, all the time
And your work will turn out fine!

We knit knit knit knit knit knit knit
From early morn to night
We knit knit knit knit knit knit knit
Up everything in sight
We knit up mittens by the score
A thousand beanies, sometimes more,
But we don't know what we're knitting for
We knit knit knit-a-knit knit

Knit-ho! Knit-ho!
It's off to knit we go!

(+) Heigh Ho!
(++) Loom-knitting uses a pick-tool.

To the tune of "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus":

I'm undecided about my skivvy
I'm undecided about my skivvy
I'm undecided about my skivvy
Upon my back
Upon my back

The shade behind me, the sun before me
The shade behind me, the sun before me
The shade behind me, the sun before me
Upon my back
Upon my back

kerravonsen: Gregory House listening on earphones: "Listen" (listen)
...a song comes up on your randomplay, you listen to it, you listen to it again, thinking "This would be a fantastic song to do a filk of!"
And then you listen to it two more times.
And then you go onto youtube and find different versions of it.

Let Her Go Down (Steeleye Span)
Let Her Go Down (Hollies)
Let Her Go Down (The Irish Descendents)

kerravonsen: "Seriousness is not a Virtue" (seriousness-not-a-virtue)
(inspired by looking at a particular food packet)

You've got to know when to toast 'em
Know when to roast 'em
Know when to boil away
Know when to grill
You don't count your chickens
Before they've been a-hatchin'
There'll be time enough for countin'
When you've had your fill.

Back in May 2003, I went to stay with [livejournal.com profile] watervole and, amongst other things, we had a lot of fun writing Stargate filks, mostly silly, some poignant. I didn't upload them at the time, because Judith wanted to use one of them in "Truth And Consequences", and I think I may have considered saving them for zines.

Anyway, that's a long time ago now, and [livejournal.com profile] astrogirl2's post about "Into The Fire" reminded me of "All In A Day's Work", and I was surprised to find that it wasn't on my site. So I've tracked them down and uploaded the poor forgotten things.

It was quite pleasantly sunny earlier, so [livejournal.com profile] watervole and I decided to go for a walk on the heath, and as we were on the way, passing all the houses, I started singing "English Country Garden"... and this is what our twisted minds came up with...

kerravonsen: Kerr Avon, frowning: Character is PLOT (character-is-plot)
Well, [livejournal.com profile] watervole and I watched the Battlestar Galactica pilot/mini-series today, and then promptly wrote a filk about it (grin).
My feeling about the series is... it's like someone took the original series and crossed it with Space: Above and Beyond. Which is not actually a Bad Thing, except I do find the non-alienness of the clothing to be a bit disconcerting.
filk! )

The filk will be put on my site when I get home, probably grabbed from this journal entry.

This week's [livejournal.com profile] b7friday theme was Beatle song titles, but I went further and went for the whole song, and made a filk.
