Date: 2010-10-01 11:27 pm (UTC)The way I did this necklace was that I had one length of tiger-tail, which I strung the beads on, and a length of ribbon which was four times the length of the tiger-tail. Attached the ribbon in the middle to the top of the tiger-tail (so one has two strands to work with), and tied spiral knots, and then started stringing the beads on the tiger-tail, and tying knots with the ribbon after every bead.
"Proper" micro-macrame is supposed to use all the same yarn, but that would have meant that I couldn't use that particular ribbon because it was too thick to string the beads on, so I improvised. Best of both worlds, really.
The book I am using is Micro-Macrame 30 Beaded Designs for Jewelry Using Crystals and Cords and it is pretty good, with clear step-by-step instructions with photographs. Though, as I said, my green necklace above isn't from the book. I intend to start one of the designs from the book today, though.

Yeah, having multiple craft WIPs is as distracting as having multiple fiction WIPs... except they take up more space.
