I hereby poke my tongue out at
mistraltoes, since (a) it's her fault I'm doing this and (b) she obviously isn't reading this.
Research has shown that most blogs die before the year is out, I expect this one is likely to be in the majority.

Date: 2003-10-18 05:50 pm (UTC)I actually expected mine to last about three weeks, if that. But I think I'm catching on to the secret of keeping the blog going, and that's to establish (a) a purpose in blogging and (b) a community to interact with. I think LJ users have an advantage in the latter, when contrasted with people who just blog on their own site. And I quite like the ability to get a more rounded view of people with whom the conversation is usually restricted to just whichever one topic the mailing list you met them on revolves around. It's a little more personal than those annoying Christmas newsletters without taking quite as much effort as keeping up two dozen private e-mail conversations; and of course you can still have e-mail conversations with the people you want to really know well.
