Yeah. I've been pretty silent for a while. Why? I think I got out of the habit of keeping up with Dreamwidth, and then I felt so overwhelmed that I then avoided it out of guilt for not keeping up. So, my apologies everyone, I have no idea what you have been doing. Let me know if there's anything you want me to know...

We've been busy (before Easter) distributing my father's Estate, which means that I now have two office chairs, a replacement sofa, some boxes of crockery, linen, photos, artefacts etc, and of course books. And two new bookcases for said books. And a chest of drawers which is definitely not going to have clothing put in it.

So I suppose I should be doing things like reading my newly acquired Rex Stout novels, but I'm still obsessed with the MCU, reading Tony-Stark-centric and Loki-centric fanfic. I am getting rather sick of "Team Iron Man" stories which bash and demonise Steve Rogers, Wanda Maximoff, and to a lesser degree the others such as Natasha Romanov. I just don't get it. Why do people feel the need to make characters they dislike worse? I mean, aren't they annoying enough already? Why do you have to make them more unpleasant? Let alone making them downright evil? I suppose people feel the need to do that in order to justify the vengeance they visit upon them, but I don't see the point of vengeance either! It is ugly. It certainly doesn't make me feel better. As I said, it is UGLY. And this little black duck... is becoming increasingly of the opinion that not only is vengeance pointless, so is punishment. Give me repentance and redemption, please.

So if anyone has any MCU fic recommendations for stories which are Tony-centric without Steve-bashing, or Steve-centric without Tony-bashing, especially ones where people learn from their mistakes, PLEASE give me links in the comments.

I have signed up -- and submitted art -- for the Marvel Reverse Big Bang! I have been looking forward to this since late last year when I discovered that it existed. And yes, I have finished all the art already! One Loki-centric piece and four Tony-centric pieces. I kept on getting more ideas, you see. Crossing fingers that I get good authors for these!

But speaking of authors... I've started writing an MCU story myself! For the first time since... 2012? Nine years! Golly, in fannish terms, I'd probably be considered "missing, presumed dead". I am so out of practice, I am finding it very frustrating. Writing is so sloooooooooooooooow! It takes so looooooooooong! Anyone feel like being a cheerleader for me?

I have had my first Astra-Zenica vaccine shot, the second one I will be getting in June. Side-effects were achey and itchy and sore arm; annoying but liveable.

Still making art -- I have an Instagram! (Which I may have mentioned before.) Same handle as I have here: kerravonsen. Follow me if you are interested in looking at combined digital & fluid art. And don't follow me if you don't; I want you to enjoy the experience. I post stuff there as I finish it, more or less. Then there is an unseemly delay between finished and "listed on Redbubble", my bad. I have been trying to catch up in the last week or so. Still over twenty unlisted. My bad.

Sleep is... erratic. I keep on waking up at the wrong times and sleeping at the wrong times. It doesn't help that I'm not being forced to keep in sync with other people, because working at home and not going out. Oh well.

It's good to see you again - and good to know that you are still creating, both as a visual artist and as a writer. Since I've gleefully written a few MCU stories, it makes me happy to see another Who fan making the traverse to that universe.

Congratulations on getting your first shot. Bob and I got our Pfizer shots earlier this spring, and it's been a great weight off our shoulders. I hope your second one provides you with no more than the achy arm you experienced with the first shot.

Writing is so sloooooooooooooooow! It takes so looooooooooong!

Oh my goodness, how I empathize and sympathize! If I can just get my own writing up and running faster ... still, I'll keep an eye out for yours and cheer you on. Let's cheer each other on!
