Is it just me, or are Dreamwidth posts failing to crosspost to LiveJournal?

ETA: Okay, *this* posted okay, but my friendslocked post didn't. Hmmm.

Hmm, I feel your pain. I used to have a lab where the printer was several rooms away connected t my machine by an AppleTalk cable with severly wonky (tm)connectors. Every attempt to print was followed by 30mins of crawling along floors under tables groping for connectors to check that hthey were still 'connecting',squeezing the wires into the plug in the hope that there was a lose connection, and hopin to hear the printer start whirring. Rinse and repeat until output. Or
hope that tech support could be found and would take pity on a mere mortal user. They knew the appletalk cable was dreadful but it was the best that they could do. My knees bore the marks from the carpet for hours, and my head hurt from banging against tables. Being 6ft is not a good basis for wire-tracing. These days I just have to worry about why the printer isn't seeing the wireless router. oh brave new world.
Peace and sympathy - David (try a cuppa tea first - amazing how many IT problems can be resolved by having a break and then going back to it. IIRC Irt was Douglas Adams who positted a good strong cup of tea as part of the 'infinite improbibility drive' in one of the Hitch hikers guide books!

I had a wobble, but found it was because it had logged me 8n via Facebook and didn't believe I was my own friend.
