I'm Meeellllttinggg!
Sep. 27th, 2015 04:04 pmI'm going to be posting a bunch of catch-up craft posts, starting with this one. Because this afternoon I have been scanning and taking pictures of stuff that I've done anything from weeks to hours ago. So, like, catch-up.
Here are a bunch of pendants I made in the aftermath of NaArMaMo, when I was still obsessed with melting things.

At the top, I was playing with my original hot-glue pendants, the ones that weren't butterflies, because I didn't like them. Some I ruined and tossed, others I just tossed. These two were the survivors; decorated with nail polish. (Note to self: do not try to melt melty beads next to hot glue. Nor embossing powder.)
Middle right, was the only survivor of my attempt to melt normal plastic beads (rather than melty-beads) to make a pendant. I didn't like the first one, which was pink, so I threw it out. This orange one is bright and cheery, I kind of like it. But I don't think I'll try this method again. I was using my heat gun, and it took forever.
Bottom two, this was melting melty beads, and then decorating with nail polish. I particularly like the one on the left (my favourite colours) but the one on the right is kind of like an antique-silver pile of squid suckers... um. Not sure whether to keep that one or try something else on it.

Necklace by Kathryn Andersen. Melted perler beads, nail polish, jump rings, twisted cord. Pendant and earrings are blue and green under UV light.
This was another melty-bead pendant, and I made earrings to go with it. And the cord was my first attempt at twisted cord with my new cord-maker, yay. So those were lying around for a while, and since I was taking pictures, I decided to finish it up, adding earring stuff and clasps.
