Racking Question
Jul. 12th, 2023 11:10 amI am amused. I had ordered a "magnetic tool rack" from eBay, intending to use it as a knife rack (because I am trying to clear space in my kitchen). There were a lot of similar entries, but I ordered one which offered TWO at a similar price that others were selling ONE for. Good bargain, I thought. The parcel from them arrived very quickly, but it only had one rack in it. So I complained to them, and they said "Patience, we will be sending the other one." And I agreed to wait, because, yes, they had been VERY quick in sending it. Well, the second parcel arrived today. And...
Not only were there TWO tool racks in the parcel, but they were a completely different design, not what I'd ordered at all (though they were, still, magnetic tool racks, true.)
I'm not going to complain, though, because I really had needed only one knife rack, which I do have, and I'm sure I can figure out some use for them.
I reckon what happened was that when they sent the first one, they had miscalculated as to how much stock they had, and it was the last one, but they sent me one rather than send me nothing, which was fair enough. And then when they got more in stock, it was a different design, but they figured, hey, they won't care if it is still a tool rack, eh? Well I would have cared if I hadn't already gotten the first one, because it fit into the space I had allocated for it, whereas the new design is much too long to fit there.
But as I said, I'll likely be able to figure out some use for the new ones. It's not like I don't have tools. Though my pliers would probably fall off, and I don't want them to get magnetised anyway, it can be rather awkward when working with steel rings.
