Craft Piccies!

I've mentioned some of these items in earlier posts, but there were no pictures. Now have some piccies!

I can't remember if I posted about these:
They are "rainbow bands" jewellery; made with colourful elastic bands. I spool-knit these necklaces and bracelets, some of them with beads.

I can't remember if I posted about this one either. This is my entry in the M.A.I.L. Contest #24 "Elements": (Link to my entry on M.A.I.L.)

These are the two Kumihimo braids I mentioned in this post.

It's supposed to represent the Four (Five) classical Elements: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Aether.

That "elements" braid is amazing, I love the mottled color effect, it definitely suggests natural forces.

Lovely. The latest craze over here is for a weaving rubber bands on a loom. The ones you have made are lovely, but what exactly is spool knit?

Spool knitting is also known as "French knitting". The classic tool for this is a wooden thread spool with four nails in it, sometimes called a "Knitting Nancy". The tool I used was a bit fancier, made of plastic, with an interchangable head with either three or six "pins" on it.

I do wish I knew enough about crafts to comment intelligently, but all I can say is: the coloring on the second necklace really blew me away with how beautiful it was. Also, that it's always good to see someone clearly enjoying themselves. So go you on that count as well.
