Dealing the Wheel
Mar. 28th, 2005 03:04 pmI have now sent off the assignments for the Multi-Fandom Lyric Wheel after having spent most of the morning writing a suitable script to do the random-assigning -- a script which got more elaborate as I wanted to be able to check things as I went along and do dry-runs, and put the data in format which could be used by the script which I already use to send my Net-Fic Reviews author-notifications.
But it's all done now, 15 people in all.
Now I just have to start thinking about what I was myself assigned...
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention to the participants -- it's probably a good idea to not say whose lyrics you were assigned; there seems to be a kind of tradition of keeping mum in these ficathons, don't want to break it.

Date: 2005-03-28 04:34 am (UTC)Agh. Will have to give my N function a workout.
But yeah, I can write something, just not sure how much the person who chose the lyrics will like it.

Date: 2005-03-28 04:45 am (UTC)You can't even know what they were thinking when they picked those particular lyrics. Don't worry about it. Just consider the first-order problem of the lyrics themselves, not the second-order problem of trying to second-guess the person who picked them -- they probably don't have any idea what they themselves would do with those songs, let alone anyone else.
