A Question of Introductions

In "The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe", the Doctor introduces himself as the "Caretaker", since he's trying to keep a low profile, seeing as he's supposed to be dead.

I can't remember - in later episodes, does he fall back into his old habit of introducing himself as the Doctor, or does he just not introduce himself?

I know that in "Hide", he didn't introduce himself, because my brother D, who hadn't seen Doctor Who in ten years, spent the first ten minutes of the episode thinking that the ghost-hunting professor was the Doctor, and the Doctor was the villain. (Strange but true)
So... for other episodes, do any of you recall whether or not the Doctor introduced himself as "the Doctor"?

That's a good question! His companions refer to him as "Doctor," but whether he actually introduces himself that way in recent episodes. I was wondering how he thought he could keep up the illusion of being dead if he's still going around in the TARDIS and intervening in various times and climes. Perhaps you're right, and this is, in fact, one of those ways!

In The Snowmen Clara gets his err.. "name" when she overhears him talking to Drax, but in the Bells of St John he introduces himself as The Doctor and does a whole song and dance when she asks Doctor Who?

I just checked Hide and Journey (thank you ABC iview) and he introduces himeself as the Doctor both times. In Hide the professor asks Doctor What? and he replies "If you like" and goes on to introduce Clara.

Well, introducing himself to Clara doesn't count, I was thinking more along the lines of not letting his enemies know who he was, since he should be trying to let the Silence think he is dead.

In the episode with the Daleks in which we met Clara's alter ego, didn't she do a clever computery thing which effectively wiped out knowledge of the Doctor from the records Galaxy-wide, so that the need for him to keep a low profile was removed?

I wouldn't say removed, but reduced:
a) there would be no effect on computer records before that time;
b) it was a one-off wipe; nothing stopping people after that time making records of the Doctor if he chose not to keep a low profile;
c) the Daleks were affected immediately because they were cyborgs;
d) computer records aren't the only kind of records there are.
