I just realized that Hermione is brilliant at everything except what Harry is brilliant at: flying and DADA. And chess, which Ron is brilliant at.

Interesting. I'd have expected Ron to be useless at chess, because it requires a lot of concentration (among other things), and Hermione to be good at it.

Well, it's canonical that Ron is brilliant at chess, since it was he who solved the chess puzzle in the first book. Perhaps he's an idiot-savant with chess? 8-P

Except Hermione has a reputation for being good at hexes and she certainly researches DADA as a subject. I wouldn't say Harry is brilliant at it, the only spell he excelled at was the expelliarmus.

Both of these were extraordinary for a wizard, let alone a teenage wizard.
