More Crochety Things, And Happy Returns

Finished! Crochet that I started for NaArMaMo.
Second bath puff:
This is my second bath puff. This one is cotton. It is larger than the first one, because I wanted to see if I could make one which was even more crinkly. The colours on the image aren't quite right; the greens aren't so olive-green-y. It's interesting that the outside colour dominates the object, even though most of it is made of the inside colour.
Purple ruffle necklace:
This is lovely 100% hand-dyed silk, a nubbly silk, not a satiny silk. The hook was 3.5mm for both the necklace and the earrings. The pattern for the necklace was pretty simple: first, a long chain; second row, 3sc in each ch stitch; third row, 3dc in each sc. The earrings were just messing around with crocheting in the round. I used a lot of clear nail polish on the back to make them stiff.
In regard to my health, my guts STILL hate me. (sigh)
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance for
tptigger. May there be bouncing and happiness!

Date: 2012-09-09 10:34 pm (UTC)The design is pretty simple: first make a crochet circle, and then do 3 single-crochet into every stitch... until you want to stop! Then do a row of single-crochet in the contrasting colour. My first bath puff I did in double-crochet rather than single-crochet; I think if one does it in single-crochet one needs to use a larger hook than is usual for the particular yarn, so that the result isn't too stiff.
