Up Up And Away
Feb. 24th, 2005 12:19 amHere I am at Changi Singapore Airport, using one of their free internet terminals. I probably only got access to it because it's about midnight local time. Our flight departed about two hours late from Melbourne because the First Officer had a medical emergency in his family, so they had to get a replacement First Officer. Not something that happens every day.
Good news; they set up my CPAP and it worked and I used it. Not that I got all that much sleep, only a few hours, but that's par for the course, simply because of the way the flight is set up -- first they feed you, then they let you sleep. Which makes sense when the flight normally leaves Australia about 5pm -- even leaving 2 hours late, you couldn't really just go to sleep, your body-clock wouldn't cooperate. Well, looking at my dual-time watch, my body-clock thinks it's about 3am. Planning to get more sleep on the next leg; again, not that I expect it to be as restful as a night in my own bed, but a heck of a lot more restful than a night in my own bed without CPAP. Yay!
