Well, I took the plunge, earlier than I'd intended. I've changed my website over to Posy, the website content manager I've been writing the past few months. Y'see, I got an email from someone saying that my site was impossible to navigate and that one needed a degree to find the contact email... so I decided to do the polishing later, and just change the site over.

Though as far as navigation and contact email are concerned, the improvements are minor, and I'm danged if I can think of anything more I can do to make the site better. The new-version site has aan actual site map as well as a site-guide, maybe that will help, especially (and I like this bit) the site-map will (for most of the sub-directories) tell you where you just came from on the site. I think that's pretty cool. Though I guess it won't be very cool if it isn't helpful to people.

(sigh) I'm glad I was told that it was hard to navigate, but nobody ever has any ideas how to make it better, they just complain about how bad it is, and I'm left discouraged and baffled. (sigh)

I wouldn't worry too much, unless you're getting lots of people telling you it's difficult. People perceive things in different ways.

Problem is, if the contact email was hard to negotiate (and it is harder than normal, because of my anti-spambot measures which I will not remove) then there could be lots of people who gave up before telling me it was difficult.

Really? (looks) Hmmm. (tries various things) Ah. It worked on my PC, because I was using Apache. However there is a workaround I think, because Zeus seems happy to allow GET methods -- I have no idea why it doesn't like POST, even though that is more secure.
Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it up tonight.

(Googles a bit) Ah. I think the reason it doesn't like POST is because of the workaround I've had to use in order to get Posy working at all on Zeus -- it is set up as an error 404 handler, which means that it can get the QUERY_STRING from the environment, but there is no ability to handle POST requests, because presumably it isn't actually being treated as a CGI script. If the server were Apache, I could set up ReWrite rules and my posy.cgi script would be treated as a proper CGI script and POST requests wouldn't be a problem.

Ah well, it mostly works.

Um, this might be my work computer on the fritz (though I have always been able to access Katspace here), but none of the links on your main page lead anywhere. Did I just try the site at a time when you were updating it? (it's 10am 1/18 Pacific time here).
