I think that was supposed to be scary. Emphasis on the supposed to.

Well, the people turning into wooden dolls was scary, I have to grant that.

But "Fear Her" (so terribly similar) was scarier, though the resolution of "Fear Her" was silly. The resolution of "Night Terrors" was a better idea; however, it would have been better altogether if it had been more convincing. The father goes from "What? He's an alien?" with an expression of horror/disgust, to five seconds later rescuing the boy from extremely slow-moving giant wooden dolls? It was pretty lame. A good idea, but poorly executed.

I suppose it didn't help that as soon as Amy and Rory discovered that the copper pot was made of wood, I figured that they were in a doll's house. Which rather ruined any air of mystery in it for me.

Eleven was very good, though. He reminded me again of a Primary School teacher.

Me too.

I didn't find it as scary as I expected to either. There wasn't a lot of story when it came down to it and the family are still behind on their rent.

Me three.

I think this is one of the ones that sends the little kids behind the sofa and the adults going, "well, at least they didn't kill Rory this time..."

Though poor Rory thought they had at first.

i didn't find it particularly frightening either, but every kid I know was PETRIFIED. XD And if it scares kids, it's accomplished what it set out to do.

The wooden copper pot made me assume a National Trust property. I was guessing they didn't have the original pots, so had made replicas for the tourists to look at.

No idea. I know plaster bread is common and I'd already tagged the building as feeling like a National Trust property, so my mind set was working in that direction.

Ah it didn't take the wooden pan to tell me it was a dolls house, don't ask me how but I'd worked that out from the start.

I was intrigued by the creepy nursery rhyme, but that was about all.

The little lad being the root cause was no surprise either, though that does explain his ability to call the Doctor.

This was one of those episodes that reminds me about the problems with the single episode format of the modern Doctor. 45 minutes just isn't enough time to draw out a subject properly and the whole thing always seems rushed.
