Date: 2004-12-08 12:25 pm (UTC)See, I need this for work, because what I'm doing right now is comparing lots of times, to see if our time-credit calculations are correct. Or, I should say, I've already written a program which compares the time-credit calculations, and flags the ones that don't appear to be "correct" (that is, they differ from the value gotten from another data source) and what I have to do is go through and figure out why they differ. And that involves a lot of calculations adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing time-values. So I'm sitting there with xcalc, converting the hours+minutes into minutes, doing the calculation, and then converting them back again. (divide by 60, take away the whole number, multiply by 60... (yawn))
