Summary:Hermione Granger always knew that her life was on hold for Harry's cause, but a gesture of kindness from a mysterious stranger will soon begin to change her mind. AU, HGSS, In response to a 'Daddy Long-Legs' WIKTT challenge.
This could be considered an epistolary romance in a way (what with Hermione writing in a journal that is read by the Mysterious Stranger) and that gives it a plus for me already. Perhaps I like that style because it encourages a meeting of minds and the development of friendship, and this story has that too.
I like the way that Snape has Slytherin motivations for his actions; he's not just suddenly being out of character in order to further the plot. And there is a plot, too, it isn't just a romance. Voldemort is still out there, and he doesn't mean well.
So... what do you think?
