kerravonsen: Methos: "Scholar, Friend, Warrior, Death, Enigma, Methos" (Methos)

I keep on meaning to thank whoever it was who reccommended the Amelia Peabody mysteries... I think it was a comment in either [livejournal.com profile] altariel1's or [livejournal.com profile] communicator's journal, I'm not sure. Anyway, I read the first one "Crocodile on the Sandbank" and am currently reading the second one, "The Curse of the Pharoahs". It isn't that the mysteries are that rivveting, or that the Egyptology and historical setting is fascinating -- I can read more mysterious mysteries from Dorothy Sayers et al, and I can read better historical fiction from Gillian Bradshaw... but the main character, Amelia, is a riot! Talk about an ENTJ! It is really rather amusing just watching her be outrageous...

There was in the one I read years ago. Surely there isn't more than one Victorian Egyptologist.

It could well be. Her son was about 10 in the book I read.
