Holy Crossovers, Batman!
Nov. 3rd, 2003 05:50 pmDecided to look for Methos crossovers on Google, and rather than go over all the popular ones I already knew about, I thought I'd hop to the end of the list and go backwards. Well, besides encountering the occasional slash story that wasn't marked as slash (sigh), there have been all manner of strangenesses found, but I think the strangest would have to be the Fantasia Gallery, one of the sub-pages of the Derbyshire Writers Guild, a group dedicated to Jane Austen fanfic. The "Fantasia Gallery" is the section on the site dedicated to "stories that stray from the historical period in which Jane Austen's characters lived or contain irreverent or silly elements". The page came up in the search because one of the stories was a meta-fic with Methos in it as well as various Jane Austen characters (very silly) and there was also on the page a crossover with... Batman. I did actually start reading that one: the concept of Darcy as Batman has potential (rich, angsty brooding handsome guy, yeah, it fits). Unfortunately, as soon as the scene changed to Meryton, it seemed that Meryton had transplanted itself and everyone in it into the USA, and that I couldn't stomach, so I stopped.
