Yesterday I invented a yummy variation of iced coffee, which was inspired by [personal profile] afuna mentioning the iced coffee she had while on holiday: drip coffee, condensed milk, poured over ice.
At work, we have an espresso coffee machine, which makes nice coffee, but we have no ice, since they replaced the old bar fridge with its tiny freezer which was always iced up, with a bigger fridge which doesn't have a freezer compartment. So it occurred to me that since we have a convenience store in the bottom of our building, I could replace the condensed milk and ice with vanilla ice cream. So I went down, but they didn't sell those little tubs of vanilla ice cream which such places sometimes sell. So instead I bought one of those chocolate-coated vanilla ice creams on a stick (in this case it was a Magnum, but any similar one would do). So it ended up being more of a mocha ice than pure iced coffee, but I certainly didn't object to that.

1. Scrape the ice cream and chocolate off the stick into your mug.
2. Put mug in coffee machine and make one serve of espresso.
3. Stir until most of the ice-cream and chocolate have melted (they didn't melt completely, but that's okay)
4. Top up with cold milk (and optionally add sweetener to taste)

Recently I've been watching Season 2 and 3 of Bones. Stephen Fry! As a psychotherapist! That was fun. Ah, I like these people. Though I don't like Hodgins' new haircut in Season 3. I preferred it when his hair was longer.
The other thing I've been doing at the same time is making necklaces. Hopefully I will make enough that I will have plenty of Christmas presents ready for Christmas this year, instead of completely stressing out at the last minute. Though I have still been doing some last-minute; I made a necklace for my eldest niece for her 21st birthday, and I was still working on it the same day I gave it to her. It was very pretty, though.

Other necklaces I've made have been: a white necklace, a blue necklace and a purple, blue, green and clear necklace.

Sounds like an affogato (espresso over ice-cream) which we often have at the local Thai place as a dessert. And when did you start drinking coffee? I don't think you did when you were here. [Edit] Or am I thinking of someone else? I do remember you have maple flakes on either a flat white or a chocolate now I think of it.

I love the necklace you did for your niece. Very elegant, and lovely colours. Are those tigers' eyes?

I have 2-4 coffees over the weekend and otherwise just if I buy one when I'm out, so I don't think I'm likely to get too much caffeine. It usually doesn't affect me anyway; I can have a coffee at a restaurant and go to sleep afterwards. But yes, I do have very milky ones too which may make a difference. :-) I've just finished my Saturday morning flat white. Yum.

That's very stylish. The black ribbon really compliments the tiger eye.

OOh I don't like coffee but I know someone who would like the idea of an iced mocha. In summer of course, tonight it being -3C I don't think he'll like the idea.

Lovely necklaces, though my initial thought on the blue necklace was "cute, fluffy!".My brain is a strange place sometimes.

Liked the blue necklace.

Had to laugh about the plan to make enough to not stress out by Christmas this year. That is my plan every year. And every year around half-way through December I realise I'm not going to make it in time. Cue last minute panic shopping! :-D Maybe this year?
