I'm around, but not posting a whole heck of a lot, because I just spent the last two weeks futzing over the latest chapter of a fic. This Christmas isn't going to be very Christmasy for us, although that doesn't bother us very much, so I can say I've been blessedly free of holiday madness.

How are things by you, as they say in Chicago?

One thing I intend is to avoid going anywhere near a shopping centre before Christmas. Or if I do, just go to a supermarket and get out quickly. Fortunately I've ordered a number of presents online, though some of them may not arrive in time.

How are things by you, as they say in Chicago?

I'm a bit tired, a bit sore still, a bit overwhelmed with the things that still need doing before Christmas.
Fortunately, my sister's family will be staying with my father this year, instead of with me. Not that I dislike having them, not at all, it's just somewhat of a strain having three more people in a house when I'm used to there being just me, even when they do awesome things like cook yummy meals.
