Well, I've seen the next two episodes of NCIS... and I'm somewhat dissatisfied. Well, I still like Abby and Ducky (and Gibbs), but the plots... don't make a great deal of sense. No, they aren't complete nonsense, but they feel... wobbly. For things I can verify (such as Australianisms, or computer geek stuff) they have stuff that's right and stuff that's unlikely, and stuff that's wrong. Wobbly plots.
Mind you, The Sentinel had wobbly plots too, so I'm not sure why I'm finding the wobblyness of these plots more irritating.

Date: 2009-06-24 06:58 pm (UTC)I love NCIS, but I'll admit right now I don't watch it for the plots. *grin* It's the characters that I love, and the show's sense of humor. If I didn't love the characters, I wouldn't be able to watch it. *shrug* Honestly? It almost lost me during season 2 because I was so mad at some of the characters I normally adore. I'm glad I held out, though, because S3 totally restored my faith.
FWIW, though, I think if you're not enjoying the show (or at least if it's hard to find things in it to enjoy), you're under no obligation to keep watching. You gave it a try--that's more than some people would do. If there's anyone on your f-list that thinks you have to like it because they do, well...that's their loss. :-)

Date: 2009-06-24 10:11 pm (UTC)No, there isn't anyone like that; I just wanted to find out what it was like. I haven't felt at all pressured; I was quite happy to keep on ignoring it as I had been all along, but then I found out that David McCallum was in it, so I had to check it out. And I have to admit, I'm curious about Abby-as-companion, so I knew I had to watch enough to be able to enjoy that crossover with comprehension.
I would like to see if I could carry on with it (a) ignoring the plots (b) ignoring Tony (who irritates me) and (c) concentrating on Abby and Ducky.
