Fic-tion-al
Aug. 14th, 2004 09:46 pmNo, it isn't what you think, alas, though I realized what an intriguing sentence that was just after I wrote it. Utopia is a font family, in which my most recent zines have as the default font. Unfortunately, the version of Utopia I had when I did the zines doesn't appear to be the version I have now; the new version is slightly smaller, enough so that it has messed up all the formatting of my zines when I re-generate them. Well, I'm blaming Utopia, because I do remember that some time relatively recently, Debian removed Utopia from its font collection because it wasn't Free-as-in-Speech, and I had to get a replacement from somewhere or other, so that's why I'm blaming Utopia.
I spent most of today re-doing Staked Blake with Bookman instead... what a waste of time! I'd intended on working on Refractions #3 instead. Now it looks like I will have to redo Refractions #1 and #2 -- I am sick of this! Crap.
I can't find a replacement font which is just the size of the old Utopia. The Palatino I have seems to be smaller than the current Utopia, and New Century Schoolbook and Bookman are larger than the old Utopia. (sigh)
There always seems to be tiny little things that completely mess up the layout... (sigh)
I feel like the Red Queen, running to stand still.
