Whoo-hoo! I'm paid!

Yes, I decided to cave in and get a paid account. Silly me.
So, I'm trying out the post-by-email feature to see if I've got it
set up right.

Despite my earlier musings, it wasn't really the thought of more icons
which tempted me, well, not the first thing. The first thing was polls,
the second thing was post-by-email, the third thing was fuller
customization of the LJ, and the fourth thing was more icons. (grin)

There's another advantage: LJ have a new feature called 'Express Lane' which allows paid users' browser requests to cut in ahead of others so when the web servers are loaded, paid accounts get pages served to them faster. After the slow response times we've had, this is a very good reason to stay paid up.

Oh, and I look forward to your new icons. :-)

Most polls are staggeringly boring. Post by e-mail can be really handy - I use that quite a bit.

Customisation is often a pain. I find some customised pages to be a real pain on the eye and some have appalling layout.
