Still sick. I thought I'd post a poll. If [livejournal.com profile] kalquessa can, then I can.

[Poll #1312457]

Aw, I used to love Andre Norton as a teen. I'm sort of scared to pick her up again, though, because so much of the stuff I loved then turns out to be disappointingly less-than-awesome when I re-read as an adult. I hate being a grown-up sometimes.

Is Bradshaw the one that does good historical fiction? I think I have her book about Cleopatra sitting on a shelf somewhere. And really, it sort of boggle my mind that I haven't read any Heyer yet.

I did go back to Norton, and was rather disappointed. Wasn't bad, but didn't have quite the magic I recalled, though it was there in some passages. Then again, I only tried one book. The descriptive text still held, but the plot was still YA and I'm not any more.

Re. Heyer, I figured I could use Wiki to figure out where to start, but I just haven't gotten around to it, yet. I haven't read any Peter Whimsey yet, either, though the first book's in the stack. Between the two, I'm sort of surprised all you cool people still consent to hang out with me.
