Patchwork progress (ArtMonth 1)

I had intended to cut out the pattern tonight, but what I ended up doing instead was
(a) moving the ironing board and iron into the study/sewing room
(b) finding three boxes, and going through my cloth scraps and remnants for green, blue and purple, and putting them in the three boxes. Plus a bag for variegated blue/green/purple bits.

During this, I found a remnant that looked as if it had mildew on it (ugh) so I put that aside to be washed tomorrow. Fortunately, the cloth it was next to seemed fine, so I'm a bit puzzled how it got like that.

Surprising how much effort and energy all that took. Zzzz.

Do you have a pattern to work to, or are you making up your own? I'd love to see pics of your progress.

The patchwork itself is going to be crazy-patchwork, that is, I'll put the pieces together in a "make it up as I go along" way, like my jerkin was. But I'm aiming to make a jacket out of the whole thing, for which I have a pattern which I purchased last week (or was it the week before?).
Basically, I'll piece the bits of cloth together, and when I have enough for one of the pattern-pieces, I'll cut out a pattern-piece and put it aside. Then when I have all the pattern-pieces, I'll sew them together to make the jacket. I'll probably need to buy extra cloth for a lining; I don't think the original pattern has one.

What an excellent idea! I once made two quilted jackets, but from already quilted Chinese fabric. Will you back yours with foam, or just satin?

Satin, I think. The usual thin polyester lining stuff.
