1. Reply to this post, and (if you like) I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee.
And
infiniteviking picked the following icons:
1. Zen-failed (because it's giving me Galaxy Quest flashbacks....!?)
This is Zen, the AI that ran the good ship Liberator, from Blake's 7. In the episode "Terminal", he and the ship broke up, and it was a heartrending death scene, when he said "I... have failed you... I... am sorry" (particularly as he had never referred to himself as "I" before). This icon is supposed to represent abject apology for failure... but somehow I haven't ever ended up using it much.
2. Carter + Daniel, inconceivable
I was asked to make a Carter + Daniel icon by someone (I forget whom, now), and I liked it so much I decided to use it myself as well. The line, is, of course, from The Princess Bride, but both Carter and Daniel looked so intent and surprised, it seemed fitting. They're the intelligent ones, after all.
3. Avon + Vila, lost
This one has three versions. I liked the image of Avon and Vila but I couldn't think of a good caption. The existing caption was thought up by
hawkeye7 when I posted the original version on
b7icons, and I think it's the best one, because it just Fits. Vila looking all anxious, and Avon looking impassive, it is just that sort of situation.
4. Joe-watching, just-watching
This is the second one in this bunch I didn't make myself. But I saw it in someone's post, and asked about it, and tracked it down to get permission to use it. Joe Dawson (Highlander) is a Watcher, who "observes and records" the doings of Immortals, and seeing him peering around a wall is very fitting (though the irony is that the image comes from an episode where he was doing more than observation...). I like the double use that this gets because I can use it as a "hey, I'm just watching" icon. But I love Joe as a character too, a non-"special" person who is special because he's a friend, who wisecracks, argues, has conflicting loyalties, and all this interesting stuff.
5. Methos + Death
I made this when I was writing my Methos (Highlander) + Death (Sandman) story (which was my finish-a-thon story year before last). I totally failed on the story, I just couldn't make it work. But I really wanted to do a story where Methos and Death had some History (because they totally would), it's such an appealing idea (also inspired by a couple of Sting's songs)... but the story ended up a horrible mess. Maybe some day I'll figure out some way of making it work; in the meantime I can look at this icon.

3. That is indeed a great picture and an apt caption.
4. Heh! Is that from the one where Methos goes on about Joe being his best friend? *grins* That always sounded like such an awesome episode. Joe's a fantastic character; he's like the McCoy of Highlander.
5. Methos + Death + Sting should be an infallible source of inspiration, but for some reason the man's so darned slippery to write.... I've often wished there was a Methos vid to "A Thousand Years".

Yes, it was "A Thousand Years", that was the song! Plus "Desert Rose", for some reason. I could NOT get it to work.
