I think this demonstrates more how non-conformist I am. A lonely little petunia in an onion patch, or perhaps a lonely little onion in a petunia patch.
Yes, I am interested in cats -- who wouldn't be? Slash? No no nooooooooooo! I used to be into B5 until they JMS betrayed me. Cooking? Well, I guess I'm not uninterested in it. Monty Python? Look, I am one of the few people in the world, surrounded by computer geeks as I was at Uni, to know about Spam and the Dead Parrot sketch without ever having seen it. No, I am not interested in Monty Python, but I have absorbed data about it through osmosis. Star Trek? Look, I told you I was a non-conformist. Trek rhymes with drek for good reason... Yeah, the Original Series was classic, that's about it. Mythology? I suppose so. Yeah. I need to read up on more of that. Angel? Well, there is a deliberate reason I did not put Angel in my interests, and thats because... I'm not interested! Saw the first season, that's about it. Sleeping? Ah, if only... Star Wars? Well, yes, the original trilogy was classic, but I'm not interested in any SW fanfic... Douglas Adams? Well, I suppose so. Neil Gaiman? Why didn't I put him as an interest? Probably because I'm more interested in Sandman than Gaiman per se. Firefly? I've seen one episode. Not enough to make me want to shell out $$$ for the DVDs. Farscape? I can't really call myself interested if I haven't seen the entire series. Paganism? No, no, noooooooo! Save me! 8-P Shakespeare? My ignorance outweighs my enjoyment. Photography? Well, maybe since I got my digital camera... Sci-fi? I am not going to call it by that dreadful name! Drawing? Well, yes. Vampires? Well, no, not as such. The only reason I liked Forever Knight was because Nick didn't want to be a vampire. Likewise with Buffy, vampires are bad. But most modern "I'm interested in vampires" stories are things where vampirism is "nice". Ugh. Nice vampires give me the wiggins. Ugh. Drinking blood is a Bad Thing, okay?
