I was tagged for this by [livejournal.com profile] izhilzha

Rules: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names.

I'm tagging people, but if you don't want to, don't do it.

10 Things You Don't Really Need To Know About Me

1. I dislike mixing sweet and savoury in the same dish. Nuts usually count as savoury.

2. Four out of seven people in my immediate family are left-handed. I am one of them.

3. When I was one and a half, there was a period where I wouldn't eat anything but tomatoes. Surprisingly, I still like tomatoes. But not grilled.

4. I neither own nor drive a car.

5. We were such bookworms when I was a child, we used to have to get permission to read at the table (during meals).

6. I had teeth-braces when I was a child, which straightened my teeth, but my teeth have gone crooked again! Well, the most crooked one has gone crooked again. And, no, I'm not going to bother going through the annoyance of braces once more, considering I expect it would just revert after N years anyway.

7. I am a "super taster"; I am in that 1/3 of humanity which has more sensitive tastebuds (especially in regard to bitter flavours). Which possibly explains the tomato incident above: I was a very fussy eater as a child.

8. I don't drink, not for any religious or health reasons, but because I dislike the taste of alcohol (see point 7). Sometimes I will drink very sweet wine or liqueur, such as Bailey's. But not very often.

9. I have a purple ostrich pen standing on my desk at work. It is a one-legged purple-feathered bird, and its foot is the cap of the pen. I don't actually use the pen as a pen, I just look at it because it is cute and silly.

10. I have a wind-chime hanging in my bathroom. It was a gift from Eldest Brother + family, all made of glass and copper, and I deemed it too pretty to risk the rigours of the outdoors, so I hung it in the bathroom instead.

Wow to number 4! I read six books a week as a kid, and though my father had loads of classics and history books, he and my mothers felt I should be outside doing physical things (which I did do too: RPGs based on WW2 and Star Trek etc) but I think they didn't understand the whole concept of fiction. At the table, we had to behave like little adults and talk about something sensible or not at all.

I remember bringing books to restaurants and being allowed to read until the food came. These days, it's usually me and a book dining out together. :)

Well, since I left home, meals go with books, TV, or DVDs - unless I have visitors. I can do what I like!

OT but I just saw your new and very cool layout. Is it straight-out Expressive, or did you, as I suspect, add your own banner to it?

I assume you mean Kathryn and not me, because I haven't touched my layout since I started. :)

:) By the way, while we're talking about banners, I don't think I ever mentioned how much I like yours. And Kathryn's is pretty, too.

Kathryn's is gorgeous!

I gave Vila a reddish-brown version with things in slightly different places. :-)

It looks amazing! I esp like the way the white of the body becomes part of the banner. I've customised mine in other ways: font, size, link colours, removing the wrap under the icon, and changing the comment format.

With great difficulty! I had several goes at that till I got it to work. The instructions are here.

I think I may have already done this one at some point, I don't quite remember. But maybe I'll see if I can come up with some new things that people really don't need to know about me. There've got to be lots of those. :)
