They are here!
Jan. 12th, 2008 11:34 amYay! My sister-in-law S, and my nieces L and T are here! And considering the drama which they had, praise God that they are all here.
The first I knew of the drama was when I arrived at Parents for dinner last night; apparently an hour before, they'd gotten a call from Singapore, because S had left behind her old expired passport which had her visa in it. Drama! Angst! Many many many phone calls by numerous people. The passport was found in Bangkok! Plans for S to stay in Singapore to wait for passport, and send L and T on alone on the continuing flight. Sterling phoning by friend-in-Singapore to airline officials. A wonderful airline official called Miss Dell, who contacted the Australian Embassy and got permission for S to travel because they had records of her visa and thus, yes, she was allowed to travel to Australia. Yay! Calling back to confirm that she wouldn't have trouble when arriving in Darwin. Yay! And they all got on the flight they were originally going on, and arrived here! Yay!
D went out to the airport to pick them up (I had slept in). But I was awake and in my study by the time I heard them unlocking the front door. Yes! Hugs ensued.
Now they are having a bit of a nap because they are exhausted by the long journey.
