I've just finished watching "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", courtesy of S at work who loaned me the DVD.

I ♥ Luna!

And I'd forgotten how well Sirius was cast; a good balance between his caring of Harry, and his touch of vanity and thoughtlessness.

When Umbrage came on the scene -- I hate that woman with a burning and smoky hatred -- I had to pause the DVD and fortify myself with icecream, because I find it very hard to bear the whole "I must not tell lies" thing. But I told myself that there were actually things to look forward to, such as Dumbledore's Army and the Twins' spectacular "escape", so I sat down with my icecream and continued.

I ♥ Neville! The way everyone cheered when he finally mastered expelliarmus!

And Ron was much better this time. And Hermione was awesome as usual. And everyone, y'know. And Minerva hugging the hopeless divination teacher.

Did I mention that I ♥ Luna?

But I think I will now go and re-read some post-OOTP fanfic (probably "A Year Like None Other", because it is good, though I would rather have another chapter of [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup's "Back Again, Harry?" but there isn't one yet.

Smile!

I was deeply impressed by Luna too. And lots of other good stuff.

I'm another member of the Luna fan club.

Somehow, I find Umbridge nastier even than Voldemort.

I haven't seen it yet (must watch it over the break) but I fell for Luna in the books.

She looked just how I imagined her in the cast photos I've seen. I must rent that DVD during the break.

I went and saw OOTP in theaters a second time just after reading the 7th book; that's actually what prompted me to start writing. When I "hear" Harry's voice, it's the quieter moments of OOTP I'm drawing from: I kind of consider it the pivot point for all his tragedies. Everything before's a build-up, and everything after's just "piled higher and deeper" (with a few important revelations mixed in).

I need to go back and find-- what's the sequel, "A Summer Like None Other"? Or do I have it backward? Whichever one was still WIP, and finish reading it, because that was a good yarn. It'll have to wait, though. Between RL (flood, family, friends) and Yuletide (have only managed to reread 4/9 of canon so far) I'm a bit swamped. I do, however, intend to have at least one more chapter of BAH up by the end of December.

I adored Luna. The girl they cast for the roll does not especially resemble my sister-in-law Ernie beyond the fact that they are both blond and blue-eyed, but something about her line-delivery and vague air rem, inded me very strongly of Ern, which was an added layer of humor since we have always said Ern would make a fantastic Luna.
