Kiwiland day 4

Another quiet day yesterday. Slept in. LJ'ed. Failed to connect to my computer at home. Messed around on laptop. Had lunch at the Jazz cafe (nice stained glass window. No jazz, not at lunchtime). Bought ingredients. Cuddled cats. Looked over vilakins' shoulder when she made her rainy Vila icon. Played Word-Rumicub. Made Vietnamese chicken noodle soup, which seemed to go down well. Watched "The Sarah-Jane Adventures" episode 1 (The Revenge of the Slitheen pt1). Discovered that Bundaburg "Peachee" is delicious.

Sounds like another nice day in Kiwiland.

I watched the first ep of the S-J Adventures a couple of months back. What did you think of it? Do you know if there has been more than that one ep?

That was the sort of pilot special. The one I saw last night was the first episode of the series proper (though I've heard there will be only six episodes in the "season"). The pattern so far has been half-hour episodes with each "adventure" being a two-parter.

It's very much a kiddie show, but I'm not predjudiced against kiddie shows.

I need to make a Sarah-Jane icon.

You're having a very relaxing holiday there.

And you've seen more of S-JA than I have so far (I missed the first ep of the series due to not having internets to remind me, missed the second for the same reason, and then gave up and decided to wait for the DVDs). Is it likely to be worth me getting the DVDs when they come out, or should I wait until I can pick them up cheaply?

Not sure. I wouldn't rate it as highly as Doctor Who itself, but it's better than Torchwood (not that that's saying much, though I have some small hopes that Torchwood Season 2 might be an improvement on Season 1).
