kerravonsen | Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster

As mentioned in my previous post, I have a non-alchoholic Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster recipe. We invented it for an SF-themed party many years ago.

To refresh your memory, here is the original HHGG recipe:

Take the juice from one bottle of that Ol' Janx Spirit.
Pour into it one measure of water from the seas of Santraginus V -- Oh that Santraginean sea water, oh those Santraginean fish!
Allow three cubes of Arcturan Mega-gin to melt into the mixture (it must be properly iced or the benzine is lost).
Allow four litres of Fallian march gas to bubble through it, in memory of all those happy Hikers who have died of pleasure in the Marshes of Fallia.
Over the back of a silver spoon float a measure of Qualactin Hypermint extract, redolant of all the heady odours of the dark Qualactin Zones, subtle sweet and mystic.
Drop in the tooth of an Algolian Suntiger. Watch it dissolve, spreading the fires of the Algolian Suns deep into the heart of the drink.
Sprinkle Zamphour.
Add an olive.

This non-alchoholic recipe tries follow this with substitutions, though it leaves out the Fallian Marsh gas and the Algolian Suntiger tooth. And the olive, actually. You can put in the olive if you want to.

Ol' Janx Spirit => Bundaberg Ginger Beer
Santraginean Seawater => lemonade
Qualactin Hypermint Extract => mint cordial (yes, there did used to exist such a thing, though I haven't found it for many years)
Arcturan Mega-Gin => dry ice pellets
Zamphour => powdered ginger

It's best if you can balance the flavour of the ginger and the mint, which was easier to do with the original recipe attempt, which used ginger cordial instead of ginger beer, but I think a more authentic flavour would be had using real Bundie ginger beer. Obviously any alchoholic version will pack more of a wallop than any non-alchoholic version, but I think it packs as much of a flavour-wallop as one could hope for: mint and ginger are both rather peppery.
