Well, I've just released a new version of txt2html after fixing some bugs that came up on the mailing list, and adding in a couple of minor enhancements. Whew.

But I'm all depressed anyway, as I happened to look at a bug report where the reportee called me lazy because I didn't want to apply a complicated patch to the installation part of the module, in order to fix a problem that he has with the CPAN installation module which is perfectly able to be worked around by not using the CPAN module... I don't see why I should be required to make my code less maintainable, and then sit still and be called lazy by this arrogant so and so, especially when he ups and says "oh I'm a Debian maintainer and it doesn't work with Debian", when the actual, real, official Debian maintainer of txt2html has never breathed a word of a problem with the installation part. So who does he think he is, huh? And he called me lazy. It's not fair.

Note to bug reporters: insulting the programmer is bad karma.

Excuse me? You wrote the program and are providing it free, and he's insulting you for not tailoring it to his needs? Tell him to rewrite it himself, if it's that important to him. Your time on Earth is limited, and you get to spend it in the manner you decide to. That's not lazy, that's called making choices. Choose to ignore him, if you like.
