Well, well, you never know what new surprise the internet is going to give you. It maketh the world so small...

Today I got contacted by someone from Gateshead Council (UK) Access to Information and Reading Services for permission for them to put my Dalek Poem in an issue of their audio newspaper!
I said yes. They'll be sending me a 'trib copy by snail mail. I'm tickled pink! 8-)

I'm really really glad if my stuff can bring a smile to the visually impaired; I'm more aware of that since my Mum's legally blind herself.

Edited To Add: He's just got back to me, and they can send me an mp3 file (which is what I preferred, but he thought they couldn't do it.) It's probably not going to actually appear for a couple of months, since there's a particular person they use to read poetry, and he isn't there all the time. Cool.

They had Tom Baker on The Simpsons?????? Apparently I gave up on that show too soon!

They did! He was in this ep which I remember because they showed it here but but not, I think, in the US because of 911. I think he was in more eps, at various cons.

My icon's nicked from that, but my other Simmos characters I drew myself, inspired by it.

I'll have to see if anyone has that on DVD. Since I live in the US, I wouldn't have been able to see it. Then again, by then I'd quit watching the Simpsons anyway. :)

Is he going to read it in a Dalek voice? Because that would be super-cool. :)

Congrats! I just read the poem, and it's really funny. They obviously have good taste in both fandoms and poetry.

Wow, that's cool!

(Especially that they record fanfic/fan poems!)

*nods* Still, you wouldn't catch someone over here doing that with something based off of, say "Friends," "Lost," or "The Sopranos."
