I took the MBTI test here as if I were Avon, and got the following results:

Your Type is
INTJ

IntrovertedIntuitiveThinkingJudging
Strength of the preferences %
673810067

INTJ type description by D.Keirsey
INTJ type description by J. Butt and M.M. Heiss

You are:

  • distinctively expressed introvert
  • moderately expressed intuitive personality
  • very expressed thinking personality
  • distinctively expressed judging personality

However, I think he wasn't being honest with himself, quite... 8-) (At least on the thinking-versus-feeling axis...)

I guessed he'd be INTJ or INTP. My Vila comes out ENFP.

:-D Most people make Avon INT something, but I've seen Vila as ESFP quite a lot. It might fit his hedonism, but he's actually very intuitive. I also think he's also too verbally skilled to be an artisan, but I'm no expert on MBTI.

Hm. The lock-picking and the magic tricks are more SP, though. NFs are a dreamy lot. I've several ENFPs in my family, and Vila is nothing like them.

But Vila does tend to be dreamy. He's always trying to catch up with what the others are talking about because he hasn't been paying attention. He senses danger (and is almost always right) and spends a lot of time imagining the worst. SPs live more in the present and don't have his imagination. He canonically has daydreams about the future.

Yes, he has his lockpicking skills, but it seems that it's the joy of solving the puzzle that drives him rather than a desire to acquire anything physical, much as he calls himself a thief.

I answered all the questions as Vila and got ENFP which confirms my years-old guess. He wasn't strongly N, but he was N - and very strongly E of course.

They may well me. He's still very imaginative and intuitive though.

I must go to bed.

I wish I could edit my comments, but instead I am going to delete that last one. I meant to agree with you, not disagree, but I mistyped

what a twit I am.

I got what you meant. I think.

I did so, and (as I expected) he came out very slightly J (I=58 N=37 T=75 J=11). But remember that I think he's INTP trying very hard to act like an INTJ, so I think he would deliberately answer these questions in a more J manner (because of the front he's putting up) than he would in a more secure, relaxed environment. Which, if you follow me, is why I gave certain answers that I thought he would give, rather than answers that would best reflect his true preferences.

Another possible clue here is that, looking at both our answers, his T score is higher than his N score; if this means that we can say he prefers Sensing to Feeling (which again, I believe is true), that would be more typical of INTP rather than INTJ.

But in any case, as we've agreed before, he's quite borderline on J/P.
