Heroes #20 Five Years
May. 8th, 2007 09:41 pmAiieee! Wibble wibble. Aieee!
Yes, I'm incoherent.
I don't know what to say. I'm speechless.
But it just goes to show how pictures can lie. And explains Sylar's painting. Not Nathan in the White House, but Sylar (with Candice's power) looking like Nathan in the White House.
This explains why the future is so dark, or at least, darker than it might have been. With a psychopath for president, it couldn't help but be dark. How many people would Sylar have killed by then?
I thought there was something odd when Nathan started talking about power...
Hiro gets his bounce from his friendship with Ando! (That suddenly brought this image: Hiro == Tigger, Ando == Roo... -- or maybe it's Hiro == Pooh and Ando == Piglet...)
This reminds me of the Stargate episode 2010... the same kind of last-gasp effort to change the past; it really is do-or-die.
But the fascinating thing about this is that the past is not that easy to change. It's as I said; it's not enough to save the world once, one has to keep on saving it.
What did Hiro mean by "Third time"?
I haven't quite caught up yet... don't tell me what happens in episode 21.

I can babble all I want, I've only seen through Five Years too--hee
Date: 2007-05-09 01:29 am (UTC)I'm a little worried that Hiro's "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" thing isn't accurate since he thinks Sylar went boom and it was, apparently Peter that went boom.
Unless Claire can somehow keep him from going boom.
Hopefully not in a cheesy way.
And Parkman, like most non-TP telepaths, disappoints me. He's evil in the future! He's not supposed to be evil! He's not!
Re: I can babble all I want, I've only seen through Five Years too--hee
Date: 2007-05-09 04:32 am (UTC)True, but one of the things that I'm actually liking about Heroes is that it's demonstrating that events aren't simple; that they result from the combination of the actions of many people.
I think Hiro was half-mistaken in his "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World" idea. He was half right, because failing to save the cheerleader does create all sorts of grief, including not being able to stop Sylar. And Sylar needs to be stopped, as well as the bomb needing to be stopped.
If someone doesn't kill Sylar soon, I am going to be pissed off.
As for the actual bomb... I really feel that the solution to that is certainly NOT to kill Peter (even though that's what HRG and Isaac wanted to do). That just puts pressure on Peter and makes him go darkside. If Peter blows up, it's because he is under too much stress when he encounters Ted. So don't raise the pressure, for goodness' sake!
And Parkman, like most non-TP telepaths, disappoints me. He's evil in the future! He's not supposed to be evil! He's not!
He's not evil. He's living in a grey world where there are no "right" choices.
That's another thing I like about Heroes: the number of people who want to save the world, and have completely different ideas about how to go about it.

I don't like that. :(
