kerravonsen: Hiro with arms spread: "I DID it!" (Hiro)

Wah! No no no! Aiiee!
Okay, so there are yay bits as well as "argh oh no!" bits.

Yay:
Mohinder isn't stupid after all. Well, not that stupid. He should have read the Evil Overlord list. Don't gloat, just kill your enemy first, and gloat afterwards.

Ando helped Hiro get the Sword!

Claire is resourceful, this is good.
Claire's grandmother rocks!

Nikki is getting some control back!

Oh no!:
Nathan, you are an idiot.

HRG has been exposed, oh no!
I really dislike the shapeshifter. I miss Eden.

I think Isaac Mendez just painted his own death.

Oh dear, the future looks even grimmer! Events are hurtling beyond control, into the same terrible end.
Thing is, it isn't just enough to save the cheerleader. You can't just save the world once. You have to keep on saving it, again and again.

No, no, no, we can't have Sylar with Peter's power, that would be dreadful. No no no, Peter, you've got to fight back! You can't let him discect you!

Other comments:
Now we meet Mr. Linderman at last. The evil people in this are sinisterly charming, aren't they?
The fact that Linderman knows so much doesn't surprise me all that much, and raises the question again that I wondered before: is he behind The Company?

I'm getting sick of only the good people dying. Mind you I suppose I should be glad that the good people outnumber the bad people, shouldn't I?

As usual, please don't spoil me for episodes I haven't seen.

Now I think I should go back in my flist and read old posts about Heroes, if I can manage to avoid the posts about the most recent episodes I haven't seen yet.

I have to disagree--Mohinder is stupid. Too stupid to live. He had a chance to kill Sylar and he blew it. You can get DNA samples and spinal fluid from a corpse just as easily as from a live man--and a live sociopath with superpowers is much, much too dangerous to fool around with. (I realize that The Powers That Be didn't want Sylar killed off--but I was disappointed with how they wrote this. I expect better of them.)

I wasn't terribly impressed with HRG in this episode either. After going to all the trouble of getting shot and having his own memory erased to give himself plausible deniability about Claire's disappearance, he spills all to his wife--and instructs her to tell him what he did. Now the damning info is in BOTH their heads! Plus, the more they discuss it the more likely they'll be discovered (even if Illusion Gal doesn't get involved). Better to have left himself a note with jsut enough info (in his own hand) to convince him to leave well enough alone without revealing to anyone (including himself, or his bosses if they find the note) what he did with Claire.

*sigh* Overall, I've been very pleased by the lack of idiot plot elements in this series--but this episode disappointed me.

I'm with you on this one. This began my descent into the "Mohinder, you're cute, but egads, you are a dumb one, aren't you?"

There was no good reason for Mohinder to not have killed Sylar at that opportunity other than TPTB wanting to keep him alive. But the way it was done? Sloppy, sloppy writing all around. A few more hours on the brainstorming and they might have come up with something different.

Also, agreeing with HRG. I too hated that he went through so much trouble to hide Claire only to bring his (dingbat) wife in on the secret.

Very poorly and sloppily written episode IMHO.

Well, for one thing HRG and Eden were under orders not to kill him, if I recall correctly. (And despite that, Eden decided to do so anyhow, but failed.) Mohinder, by contrast, was acting entirely on his own and at least his _professed_ reasons for keeping Sylar alive (to get DNA and spinal fluid samples from him) make no sense. You can get both of those from a corpse.

Which leaves gloating and taunting the sociopathic supervillain as his only other apparent reason for leaving Sylar alive--and that clearly falls under the "Cliched Supervillain Mistakes" list, as so ably mocked in the Austin Powers films.

You're moving right along aren't you? I think you're only two episodes behind what's aired now. :)

Claire totally rocks. Her Grandma just rocks harder. :)

I'm allowed to say "I really liked the next episode and I think you will too" right? :) (Hope so ;)

*g* nbc.com streams the most recent episodes, though there may be an IP address control so you don't stream them from outside the US.

Can you read/access the interactive graphic novels on NBC's site? (I don't know if you can outside of the US, sometimes these things are weird.)

If you can, go ahead and read up to "War Buddies, Part 6" - they really do add a bit of background and color to the Heroes world.
