Heroes #12
Apr. 28th, 2007 09:18 pmHmmmm.
So, we have more hints that Linderman is involved, what with him owning the Sword, not to mention "he buys every painting he can" of Isaac Mendez. (Gotta say that Isaac is looking very nice now)
Okay, even though I know that Hiro is obviously going to get the sword, I'm also saying to myself "There is no way that Linderman's going to let that sword go."
I hate Linderman.
How many (potential) villains have we got now?
- Sylar, semi-comatose somewhere looking at cockroaches (whether he recovers will be up to TPTB)
- Tom the Radioactive Man
- Linderman, the mob boss
- Jessica the psycho
Yay that Claire is rebuilding the friendship with Zack, though how she's going to keep it secret from her father I'm not sure. But I think it's worth it. It's all very well for the Haitian to say she's not alone, but the Haitian isn't a friend she can trust, not someone she can talk to.
It must take a lot of discipline for the Haitian to keep silent all the time.
And we still don't know what his agenda is.
As for HRG and Mohinder, yeah, well, drugging and kidnapping people does tend to backfire, y'know. HRG is arrogant in his confidence. But when you have people with superpowers on your staff, it's easy to be over-confident.
I bet that Matt's ability fizzes out just when he's trying to prove it to his wife.
Pete's dreams seem to be an ability he has of his own.
It would make sense that one way for the explosion to happen would be if Pete got exposed to Tom and couldn't control it. Especially since we've now seen Tom practicing in the desert, trying to learn control. What a twist, huh?
But it doesn't have to happen that way.
I have no idea what Nathan planned to do about it, but I'm certain it's a stupid idea. His other ideas haven't been very sensible so far.
Nice mention of how Hiro's English has improved, with the mention of the Waitress in Texas.
I loved how Simone got convinced by meeting Hiro. 8-)
So a number of threads have come together:
- Hiro, Ando, Isaac, Peter, Simone, Nathan
- Peter and Claire
- Claire, the Haitian
- Peter and Matt
Peter is very much the connecting thread, isn't he?
And we now get to see Christopher Eccleston! Gee he looks different with all that shaggy hair.
Please don't spoil me for episodes I haven't seen.

Date: 2007-04-28 01:54 pm (UTC)I keep thinking I ought to comment on these posts, but I mostly haven't, because I have trouble remembering exactly what was revealed in which episode, and I certainly don't want to spoil you, accidentally or otherwise.

Date: 2007-04-28 09:08 pm (UTC)- he dreamed he was flying before he flew
- he dreamed of a last conversation with Simone's father, and it seemed as if Simone's father shared the dream or something like it
- dreaming of being surrounded by Our Heroes (some of whom he hasn't met yet) in a deserted New York, and exploding.
Another puzzling thing: why did Peter go into a coma?

Date: 2007-04-28 03:16 pm (UTC)I have Hiro love. And Matt love.

Date: 2007-04-28 09:12 pm (UTC)But one thing about Hiro and the sword: I don't think that the sword has power in itself; it's purely psychological, a prop, just like drugs were Isaac's prop.
Mind you, another interesting thing about the sword is the Symbol (which Ando said meant "Great Talent" + "Godsend") -- how many centuries ago was that sword made? How far back does this all go?

Date: 2007-04-29 03:57 am (UTC)And can that mean anything when we have a time-travelling hero? :-)

Date: 2007-05-01 12:21 pm (UTC)However it did cross my mind last night to wonder whether there's any connection between Peter's and Sylar's abilities to absorb powers?

Date: 2007-05-01 01:27 pm (UTC)Peter, on the other hand, connects with people. He sees them all as people, even his brother the asshole. He's a healer, not a destroyer.
