Letter meme
Apr. 24th, 2007 08:12 amTo do this meme you need to be given a letter. When you've been given a letter, you must list ten things you like that begin with that letter. If anyone asks for a letter, give them a letter and tell them to do this meme.
I got zapped by
temeres, with the letter P.
1. Pride and Predjudice, the second BBC mini-series (yes, there was an earlier one) is the most perfect adaption of that book, said book which is also my favourite Jane Austen.
2. Peter Wimsey, or, to be more precise, Lord Peter Wimsey. And Harriet Vane. Yes, I'm more interested in the blooming romance on the edges of the mysteries than I am in Lord Peter on his lonesome. But then, that's how I was introduced to the series, when someone (was it on the Lyst? I can't remember) mentioned this romance positively. I don't tend to be interested in romance on its own, it's more interesting when it's mixed with something else, like mystery or history or SF-adventure.
3. Purple. One of my favourite colours, especially deep, rich, bluish-purple.
4. Paul the Apostle, full of insight and truth.
5. Pachelbel's Canon, so lovely. I know some people are sick to death of it, but I'm not.
6. The Poozies, a folk group that I have the "best of" album, simply for one song, "Another Train", which is just fantastic. I found the song in a Stargate fan-vid, which is also fantastic.
7. PhysiCal, the nicest-tasting brand of low-fat milk.
8. The Pretender, TV series about Jarod, innocent lamb and avenging angel; genius. The first few seasons were the best.
9. The Professionals, which, when I think about it, was a TV series in which ALL the seasons were good.
10. Paladin of Souls by Lois McMaster Bujold, the second book in the "Chalion" universe. This one grew on me more than I expected. I loved the first book, "The Curse of Chalion", but I also keep on re-reading "Paladin of Souls". Yes, middle-aged widows can make a difference too!
