Okay, so HRG may not be so bad; it appears that he does love his daughter in his own way.
The puzzling thing is, what the heck is his agenda?

Yeah, that confused me briefly, too. Mostly because I'm bad with faces, and if I've mentally categorized someone as "tall, bald, black dude" so I can remember him later, when a different tall, bald black dude shows up, it's naturally gonna take me a minute to sort it out. :)

HRG is an interesting case. I'm several episodes ahead of you and I'm still trying to figure him out. But he definitely loves Clare.

Ando is good to have. We need a character without powers and Hiro needs him too - though Hiro is growing up (but I hope he never loses that little boy charm)

Well, Ando isn't the only one without powers -- unless you're going to tell me that Mohinder and Eden have powers? No, don't tell me.
But yes, Ando is very much an Everyman character.

I like Ando because he fits the bill for the Sidekick. This is so much Super Hero comic genre (except that the Heroes are normal and human and flawed which is what keeps me coming back), and every superhero needs a sidekick.

No, Ando isn't the only one without powers, but he's the only one who comes at it from the Sidekick/Everyman angle.
