Those Eggs Are Done For!

I have decided to give up in my attempt to write a story for the Big Finish story competition. It was a nice thought, but what with my ear infection and the horrible weather and stuff, I don't even have a first draft yet, and I had given myself until the 15th to do that (so as to allow for beta-reading and revision). I wouldn't be able to do it justice, and I would stress myself out doing so (and I also have other commitments too), so I have given up.

May the prize go to someone better than me. Especially someone who is dying to break into publishing.

In related news, I am going to be running another Multi-Fandom Lyric Wheel ASAP (this being one of the other commitments). I did say I was going to do it in January-February, and as I just checked on RemixRedux and found that it's earlier than I thought, I think I'd better get the ficathon rolling ASAP, so that there will be less overlap with Remix. Also I think I'll reduce the word-count to 500, seeing as Remix has increased its word-count to 1000. Are folks still interested?

Probably, though I ended up writing for someone last time who didn't know Blake's 7. She was very gracious about it and said she liked the story anyway, but should people give a list of, say, at least five fandoms they'd like to get stories in?

Yes, this time I'm planning on having people give lists of fandoms they can write in and would like stories in, and the matching won't be random. However, I will have caveats on that, since I don't expect there to be that many participants, that these lists of fandoms are only going to be used as an aid to matching requests with writers, and that writers will not be compelled to be restricted to the requested fandoms. I think that's a reasonable compromise.
