The idea occurred to me, when being reminded of

that if Willow had accidentally or intentionally opened up a portal to that universe at that time (AU so that Diggory and Polly never get there) then of course she would have struck the bell. And what would have followed?

Well, I suppose Polly and Digory ultimately do win, with some assistance... but I'm not sure about Willow. I imagine she'd try to fight magic with magic, and that would put them on an unequal footing.

What I'd like to know is what would have happened had they found Jadis's sister. We've only Jadis's highly unreliable account of what the sister was like; in reality, was she better than Jadis? Worse? Exactly the same apart from not having looked up the Deplorable Word?

No qustion: Willow. Purity of heart counts for a lot, and Jadis counts on trickery and beguilement, and Willow is too good at that himself to fall for it.

Besides: allways root for the little guy. ^_^

I've, er, never seen Buffy, so that was the first thought I had too. I hope I don't get some kind of geek excommunicaiton for never having seen Buffy. (I've read Fray though.)
