Note About Anonymous Posting

This is my current policy -- it seems I have to spell it out.
Some LJ users allow only their friends to post comments. However, I don't want comments to be limited to just my circle of friends. Some LJ users only allow LJ users to post comments. However, I don't want to stop non-LJ folks from having a voice either, so I allow anonymous posting. However, as a precaution against abuse of this facility (such as by spammers), all anonymous posts are screened. Spam, naturally, gets deleted. That used to be the only thing that got deleted, but in the light of recent posts, I have changed that to include anyone who is so ashamed of their opinion that they won't put their name to it. I am assuming that someone is using the anonymous-posting facility because they cannot post as an LJ-user, so of course you aren't going to have an LJ username. That's perfectly okay, I want non-LJ people to be able to post, that's what "anonymous" posting is for. All I ask in return is that you say who you are, like, at the bottom of the post?

Sign
your
name.
Or use your handle, or whatever you usually go by on the net.
If you refuse to do so, then your post is like a note tied to a brick thrown through a window, and I will delete it. Or, to put it another way, if you are so ashamed of your opinions that you dare not put your name to them, then I shall do you a favour and prevent the world from seeing them.
