The one-long-strand idea only works if it's a long enough strand, and made out of reasonably heavy beads (such as glass rather than plastic or wood) so that it will drape rather than fall off. I think this is long and heavy enough, but I'll find out with more certainty the first time I try to wear it all day...

I don't tend to decide until I've finished, whether it will be a pierced or non-pierced earring, since I still make them the same way if I'm doing a simple dangly one, just using a "head" wire, putting the beads on and bending the loop at the end.

There are two craft materials that I find irresistable, so much so that I buy too much of it and end up with boxes of it that I don't give myself time to make anything with: one is cloth, and the other is beads. So I'm very glad of naarmamo motivating me to get to the beads at least. And then I go and discover online bead stores and spend far too much money (but they were so pretty!)
