Evil!Kat has pounced today. They've been crawling out of the woodwork, weeks later, to defend the website author who prompted this rant of mine. Their arguments seem to boil down to
a) He did too say that good fanfic exists!
b) How dare you disagree!
c) You come over here and say that then!
d) Most fanfic is bad, and deserves to be stomped on with every tool of ridicule in the book.

Well, personally I would say, bad fanfic deserves to be sent to Coventry, because we can't burn fanfiction.net to the ground, and if we did, then we'd lose a few good stories, alak.

And in other news, my ISP has gotten new equipment which doesn't like my modem. I may have to buy a new one (sigh)

I think that's fair. After all, free speech applies to a public forum, not a private one. You're not obligated to let some stranger come into your home and spout hateful things where you have to listen, for example.
